About NCC
NCC (National Cadet Corps) is a youth development organization in India that promotes discipline, leadership, and national service among students. It functions under the Ministry of Defense and was established in 1948. The NCC motto is “Unity and Discipline.”
Objectives of NCC:
- Character Development:leadership, discipline, and responsibility.
- National Integration: Promoting unity and patriotism
- Disaster Preparedness:Training for rescue and relief operations.
- Career Opportunities:Providing exposure to military life and potential defence careers.
Training and Activities:
- Drills and Parades:Regular military-style training.
- Adventure Activities:Trekking, mountaineering, paragliding, and sailing.
- Community Service:Blood donation camps, cleanliness drives, and literacy programs.
- National and International Camps:
- Republic Day Camp (RDC): Prestigious annual camp in New Delhi.
- Youth Exchange Program (YEP):International cultural exchange.
- Military Training:Weapons handling, map reading, and survival skills.
