Activities

We believe education is that which remains when we have forgotten everything we were taught. To nurture holistic development of every individual and to foster a healthy atmosphere of co-operation among staff and students, the college provides enormous opportunities for extra-curricular activities. NCC, NSS, Sports and Games etc. help encourage team work, leadership skills and service to the community. Career Guidance and Counseling, Debating Forum and the like, help students to respond positively to the rapid changes that occur in their everyday life. Our students, who are the most important persons in our campus, are expected to make the campus a venue for self-discovery. Guidance and encouragement help them to set goals and grow with moral uprightness and integrity.

National Cadet Corps

The college has men and women wing of the NCC engaged in grooming the youth into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The NCC aims:-
1. To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
2. To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in all walks of life and be always available for the service of the Nation.
3. To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.
The NCC units have sent its representatives to the RD Parade, Camps, Adventure Programmes and Youth Exchange programmes to foreign countries.

National Service Scheme

NSS Started in the College in year 1986. National Service Scheme (NSS) aims at arousing social consciousness of the youth with an overall objective of personality development of the students through community service. There is one NSS unit in the college which foster social commitment and civic responsibility through various activities. The NSS units of the college were adjudged as the Best Unit of Ranchi University, Ranchi. Volunteers have participated in RD parades and many National level camps. Some of the students of the college have been rewarded for their good performance in the related activities at National level.

College Union

College union forms a part of student activities. All regular students are members of the union. The college union aims :
i) To develop social consciousness of students and to promote a healthy corporate life among them.
ii) To discipline them in an atmosphere of responsibility, freedom and self-government.
iii) To develop their initiative for self-reliance and leadership.
iv) To advance the cause of learning through debates, discussions, lectures, competitions etc.
The union shall be subject to the rules and regulations in force in the University as well as notified by the principal from time to time.

Other Activities

All activities are organized and implemented through various committees. Apart from the above mentioned, there are committees to look into student affairs, student attendance, college examinations, UGC affairs, library, students aid fund, scholarship & endowment and computer education.
